Inter College Painting Competition organized by Red Cross, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, July 22, 2015: An Inter College Painting Competition on Women Empowerment was organised at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar by District Red Cross Society. The motive of this competition was to promote the status of women in our Society.  The women of this era are earning their name in all the fields and such competitions are need of the hour to sensitize the people about women's rights.  

In this competition, 17 students from 9 colleges like Apeejay College of Fine Arts, KMV, DAV, LPU, SD College for Women, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, HMV and B.D. Arya Girls College participated.  Mr. Ashwani Verma and Mr. Harinder Bhatti were judges of the event.   Captain Inderjit Singh Dhami, Deputy Director, Youth Services, Jalandhar, Lt. Col. Manmohan Singh, Paramjit Singh, Secretary, Red Cross, Jalandhar, Prof. Sharad Manocha, DAV, Jalandhar, Ms. Supreet S.J. Talwar, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Ms. Jeevani Kumari, Head, Department of Fine Arts, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Ms. Rimpy Agarwal and Sarabjit Kaur from the Department of Fine Arts were also present.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Sucharita said that her college always contributes to society by organizing such competitions.  She extended her views that we can only change the scenario of the society by changing the thinking of the people.
