District Magistrate bans serial “Ram Siya Ke Luv-Kush” being telecast on colours tv channel

Ludhiana: District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal on Friday (September 6) issued orders banning the telecast of serial named “Ram Siya Ke Luv-Kush” being broadcast on Colours TV channel for one month. As per the ban orders issued under section 19 of Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995 (Act No 7 of 1995), the District Magistrate stated that the telecast of the above mentioned TV serial has hurt the sentiments of a section of society and they have registered strong protest in this regard. He said that the telecast of this TV serial might lead threaten the communal harmony, peace and law and order in district Ludhiana and that is why, to ensure that no such incident takes place, the telecast of serial named “Ram Siya Ke Luv-Kush” being broadcast on Colours TV channel has been banned for one month. The District Magistrate has directed the cable operators to follow these orders strictly.
