Ferozepur, June 27, 2016: To make people aware about the menace of drugs, a district level programme was organised by Ferozepur police today.
The programme was convened by Rajbir Singh, SP (H), Ferozepur in which several police officials, philanthropists, members of various NGO’s participated.
While addressing the congregation, the SP (H) appealed the people to come forward and remove the weeds of drugs from the society which has weakened the society. He said no religion allows us to take drugs. He also urged the youth to refrain from drugs on this occasion.
On this occasion, Mukhtiar Singh, DSP (Vigilance) cum DCPO, Ferozepur, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, G.S. Wirk, Inderjit Gogia, Harish Monga and members of various NGOs were present.
Two nabbed with illicit liquor
Meanwhile, police sleuths have arrested two persons from Mamdot and Lakho Ke Behram and have confiscated 50 liter Lahan (country made liquor) and 60 bottles illicit liquor. The arrested persons have been identified as Joginder Singh son of Labh Singh and Chiman Lal.
