Speakers who gave talks at TEDx organised by Dikshant Schools pose at the venue of the event -Punjab Kala Bhawan.

Chandigarh, September 28, 2019: Dikshant International & Dikshant Global School organised a TEDx event, where the eminent speakers from diverse fields, enlightened the audience with their motivational, full of knowledge speeches and talks which had priceless life lessons embedded in them. The event took place at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sec 16, here.
“The successful conduct of the TEDx event was a proud moment for the entire Dikshant School family. We worked hard to get some of the best people whose stories inspire all who listen to them. They are all achievers who have made the world a better place. The talks were so interesting that everyone was glued to his or her seat for the entire duration of the TEDx talks.” Said Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Dikshant Schools.
The first speaker of the day, Troy Cline, the Director of the ‘NASA STEM’ Innovation Lab illuminated the importance of “Making a Moment, Having a Moment” and shared how his grandmother kindled the spark of love towards space under a starry night when he was a kid.
He left the audience introspecting with a quote by Pablo Picasso, “The meaning of life is to find your gift…The purpose of life is to give it away.”
The second speaker, Shams Alam, the first Para swimmer from Bihar to qualify for Asian Para Games inspired all as his story was that of defying all odds to achieve great heights in life.
Tumour could take away his ability to walk, but not the sportsperson in him. He took up swimming and rose up to a stage, where he now passionately promotes Inclusion of differently-abled at all places.
The Third speaker, Vicky Roy, a photographer from Bengal told his story of becoming a world –renowned photographer from a rag picker. He is now an activist and motivator, a documentary maker, Vicky has seen all colours of life.
He portrayed his journey as a series of pictures he clicked over the years. The pictures highlighted his contribution to Indian villagers and tribals who have been long forgotten.
Raghav Mehta, the world’s youngest Dastangoi performer presented a stellar Dastangoi performance , the crux of which was Mahabharata in a nutshell. His spectacular performance mesmerized the audience. Dastangoi is the art of story telling in Urdu.
Babur Afzal a hacker, who chose to become a Shepherd to save the Pashmina Goats in Himalayan talked about his journey of 7 years which he quoted as Wisdom of Shepherds.
He said, “It was in 2012 when I learnt about goats starving and dying. “Big decisions take moments”, the common thread between my old and new life was my artwork and with the passage of time today, my paintings are displayed in renowned places.”
He also shared the six life learnt lessons, “Shed your Baggage”, “Count Your Sheep”, “Seek Greener Pastures”,” Face The Wolves”, Leave the Pasteur” and last but not the least “No Mountain Too High”.
Alphonse Roy a renowned wildlife photographer said, “If you choose to pursue what you love, life becomes a holiday.”
He shares with the audience that how once looking at a picture of a cow on the cover page of Nat Geo magazine inspired him to become a wildlife cinematographer. Animal Planet produced a documentary on Alphonse titled “The Great Cats of India”. He concluded by saying, “Patience is the key”.
