Ekta Kaulto get engaged to Kanan Malhotra next month

Here’s yet another testimony to how romantic London really is. They set out to shoot a 3-month schedule of Zee TV’s Bhatinda to Birmingham love story in London and they returned with concrete plans oftying the knot! Yes, actors Kanan Malhotra and Ekta Kaul, who are currently seen as Daljeet and Saahiba in ‘Rab Se Sohna Isshq’ areslated to get engaged and will host a Roka ceremony in early November. But this couple has a surprising twist to the tale … both of them maintain that they definitely bonded in London but it was “purely” a good friendship. It was their parents, apparently, who saw the couple on-screen and found them extremely cute together. Apparently, their parents checked with them and both Ekta and Kanan then spoke about it and gave a green signal to their parents for this “arranged marriage” of sorts! Since then, both sets of parents have gone into an overdrive to plan the engagement and are all excited for a grand wedding next year.

Kanan confirmed the news, “Yes, Ekta and I will get engaged in November. We bonded very well in London but as friends. So, by all means, it is an arranged marriage … everyone at home and on the sets is happy and excited about the two of us coming together”. An insider from the sets remarked, “Kanan was seeing someone else when the London schedule began and the two had a rather well-reported break-up sometime in the course of the international shoot!”

The current track of Rab Se Sohna Isshq showcases actor Ashish Sharma’s character Ranveer two-timing Saahiba and the posh, London-bred Jazz. He takes Saahiba to his home in London and flaunts his wealth in a manner that leaves Saahiba wondering if this is the same Ranveer she had truly loved. Her awkward exchanges with Ranveer make her miss Daljeet. Having married Daljeet purely for convenience and in her quest to get to Ranveer, Saahiba had never acknowledged her feelings for him. She will soon admit to having fallen in love with Daljeet and the two will consummate their marriage.
