Shimla, January 15, 2016: A spokesman of Health Department told here today that Governor Acharya Devvrat would confer Kayakalp Awards to Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, Zonal Hospital Mandi and Regional Hospital Sirmaur on the Republic Day function on 26th January, 2016 at the Ridge, Shimla. He said that Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of these districts would receive the awards.
He said that the Government of India had introduced Kayakalp Programme in the country to honour those hospitals which demonstrated high level of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practice in the Public Health Sector.
He further informed that in Himachal Pradesh three district hospitals have been selected for the award in which the Zonal Hospital Dharamshala was the winner, where as Zonal Hospital Mandi was the runner up and Regional Hospital Sirmour has won the commendation award.
The Spokesman said that the winners would be provided with prize money consisting of Rs. 50 lakh to the winner, Rs. 20 lakh to the runner up and Rs. three lakh for the commendation award along with the certificate and a trophy. He said that the funds had also been received from the Government of India for the same.
