Ludhiana, May 26: A large number of people turned out at the `bhog’ ceremony of Sant Bhupinder Singh at the Khasi Kalan village today. He was killed in an attack by a few persons on May 17. He was close aide of the Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale.
Those who attended the `bhog’ ceremony included former Takht Damdama Sahib Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Baljit Singh Daduwal, Giani Ram Singh Sangrawan, Bhai Panthpreet Singh, Sarbjit Singh Dhunda, SAD (Delhi) president Paramjit Singh Sarna, Aam Aadmi Party leader HS Phoolka and MLAs Ranjit Singh Dhillon (SAD), Balwinder Singh Bains (Independent) and Gurcharan Singh Boparai (Congress).
`Panj Pyaras’ who were terminated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), declared Sant Bhupinder Singh as a “martyr” of the Sikh community.
Speaking on the occasion, the Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale said as under:
• The probe into the May 17 attack be handed over to CBI
• My supporters should visit DCs offices across Punjab and submit memorandum for shifting the inquiry to CBI
• Not agreed to the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh’s proposal for a compromise with Damdami Taksal head Harnam Singh Dhumma
• Have no faith on either the Punjab government or the Punjab police
