A collage of posters on the theme of eye donation, made by students of DSCE 36 was put up.
Chandigarh, September 19, 2019: NSS units of Dev Samaj College of Education (DSCE), Sector 36–B Chandigarh in collaboration with the Eye Donation Club of the college, organized an informative session on eye donation awareness.
On this occasion many posters and slogans on the theme of ‘Eye Donation’ made by the students of DSCE 36, were displayed.
The event was held as part of a national campaign set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, which aims to create mass public awareness about the importance of eye donation and to motivate people to pledge their eyes for donation after death.
A team from advanced eye center PGIMER; was invited to deliver valuable information on the subject. The session began with the college prayer ‘Bhala Chahna’. Experts delivered talks on the noble cause of eye donation and highlighted its importance. Causes both general and specific of poor eyesight or damaged eyes were also discussed.
The Principal of the college Dr Agnese Dhillon congratulated the NSS Programme officers, Charanjit Kaur and Dr.Harpreet Kaur for successfully organizing the session.
