· ACTION TAKEN IN PURSUANCE TO ALLEGATIONS OF BRIBERY LEVELED BY SECRETARY, AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE SOCIETY · ZERO TOLERANCE TOWARDS CORRUPTION IN COOPERATION DEPARTMENT: SUKHJINDER SINGH RANDHAWA Chandigarh, November 15, 2018: “The Cooperation Department, Punjab, has ordered the suspension of Deputy Registrar of the Cooperative Society Gurdaspur Bhupinder Singh and Inspector Bhupinder Singh of the Cooperative Society Shahpur Jajan circle over the bribery allegations.” This was disclosed here today in a press communiqué by the Cooperation Minister, Punjab, S.Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Divulging the details, S.Randhawa said that the Secretary of the Athwal Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society Mr.Heera Singh had leveled bribery allegations against both the above mentioned officers and had even given an affidavit in this regard. Pursuant to this, the Deputy Registrar Bhupinder Singh was placed under suspension and his headquarter fixed at Headoffice whereas the services of Inspector Bhupinder Singh was also placed under suspension with office of the Joint Registrar Cooperative Societies, Jalandhar fixed as his headquarter. The minister further said that the Deputy Registrar Pathankot has been given the additional charge of Gurdaspur alongwith his current duty. The Cooperation Minister made it absolutely loud and clear that a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption would be adopted and the guilty officers/employees would be strictly proceeded against. He added that the Cooperation Department is directly linked to the farming sector and no negligence and malpractice or bungling would be tolerated in the department.
