DEPARTMENTS ASKED: Finalize service rules

Chandigarh, December 5, 2012: The Punjab government has directed all the departments to finalise their service rules to check unwanted litigation. According to an official spokesman, it has been noticed that lack of service rules resulted in undue litigation thereby creating various administrative and legal hurdles.

The spokesman said that it has also been noticed that number of departments have not yet finalized their service rules and there were also some departments which have no service rules. The spokesman informed that each department has been sent a performa to submit existing service rules in their departments besides mentioning the date of updation as well as the reasons for not updating the service rules yet.

The spokesman further said that all the Financial Commissioner, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries have been asked to ensure the finalization of required service rules.
