Ludhiana, January 16, 2019: Punjab Rural Development & Panchayat Minister Mr Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has today appealed to all field staff including Block Development & Panchayat Officers (BDPO’s), Panchayat Secretaries and Village Development Officers, that they should provide full assistance to the newly elected Gram Panchayats for their overall development.
In a press statement issued, here today, Mr Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that it is the primary duty of all field staff to work wholeheartedly for carrying out development of villages and ensure proper working of the Gram Panchayats. He urged them to perform their duties with utmost devotion and honesty so that they can also contribute for the overall development of villages.
The Rural Development & Panchayat Minister also clarified that during the oath taking function organised at village Kila Raipur of district Ludhiana few days back, he had warned those officials of his department who do not perform their duties properly and bring bad name to department by indulging in corrupt practices. He said that he really appreciates those officials who perform their duties with utmost devotion and honesty, whose number is far more than the others.
Mr Bajwa has asked the senior officials of his department to formulate such a plan in which hardworking and honest officials should be honoured every year, while those bringing bad name to the department should be penalised.
He said that the honest and hardworking officials of his department should not be afraid of anyone. He requested the field staff to implement all schemes of the department to grassroots level and lay special emphasis towards MGNREGA.
