Dengue spreading tentacles in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, November 1, 2017: Dengue is further spreading its tentacles in this border town and more than 700 patients have been found positive. Even the MC President Ashwani Grover has become a victim of this deadly disease. However, the exact number of the patients could be even higher as most of the patients prefer to go to private clinics for treatment.

Meanwhile, Congress MLA Parminder Singh Pinki launched cleanliness and fogging drive in various parts of the town. Yesterday, Pinki along with his supporters went to orphanage home, leprosy home and today he went to blind home, de-addiction centre, public toilets near Udham Singh Chowk in city area. Pinki also cleaned up the Udham Singh Chowk. It is pertinent to mention here that fountains were installed during the previous regime of SAD-BJP government. These fountains were not functioning for the last several days. Pinki also met dengue patients in the civil hospital and took stock of the facilities being provided in the hospital to the patients.

J S Sodhi, President, Life Savers Welfare Society said that due to acute shortage of staff at the civil hospital blood bank, the patients are suffering. “1087 persons have donated blood in the civil hospital this month. Out of these 1087 persons, 87% were our society members ”, said Sodhi.
