BSNL Employees Union stage protest

Ludhiana, October 23, 2012: BSNL Employees Union Ludhiana held a massive demonstration front of GMT office BSNL Ludhiana.

The call for demonstration was given by the Central Head Quarter of BSNL Employees Union against the brutal attack on Com. Sukender Pal Singh, District Secretary, BSNL Employees Union, Ghaziabad in which he lost his life.

Com. Balbir Singh, Circle Secretary BSNL Employees Union Punjab said Com. Sukender Pal Singh was taken to local hospital where he was declared brought dead. He said the BSNL Employees Union was fighting against the corrupt practices of GMT Ghaziabad since a long time. Some cases of his corruption were also brought to the notice of Chief Vigilance Commissioner. Since then he allegedly was harassing the Union leaders and staff.

Adding, he said recently General Secretary of Union Com. P. Abhimanyu also met Director (HR) and PGM (SR) and discuss about the alleged corrupt practices of the GMT Ghaziabad. As told by the Ghaziabad Comrades the attack was pre-planned. The demonstrators demanded immediate arrest of GMT Ghaziabad and other culprits.

Com. Balwinder Singh District Secretary BSNL Employees Union Ludhiana and Com. Satpal Badhan, District Secretary Jallandhar while addressing the gathering said that this demonstration is being held today across the country. He also warned that if the culprits are not arrested the agitation will be intensified further. 

Among others, Com. Paramjit Singh District President, Com. Budh Singh, Com Avtar Singh Jhande, Astt. Distt. Secretary , Com. Mohinder Chaudhary, Com. Amarjit Chander, Com. Balbir Singh Khanna, Com. Jaswant Singh, Com. Gurcharan Singh , Com. Shingara Singh, Com. Surinder Singh, Com. Sudesh Joshi, Com. Pawittar Singh and Com. Surjit Singh Raikot were present.
