Delegation of FICO on its return from Germany at Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, September 4, 2014: The 56 -members  delegation  of  Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisations (FICO), Ludhiana  under the chairmanship of Harjeet Singh Sondh (Vice Chairman FICO) returned  after  attending  Euro  Bike 2014  &  visiting of  bicycle  &  bicycle  parts  manufacturing  unit  of  MEFA Germany  &  BUSHEL in Germany.
Delegates witnessed high  end  bikes  with  Aluminium  alloy  /  Carbon/ Titanium  frames forks  &  oil  &  air  controlled  suspension assembly  with  Disk Breaks  &  Quick release  seat post with  Gel saddles , Painted sheets to Manufacturer Mudguards &  safety  reflectors etc.
They visited  MIFA  bicycle  manufacturing  unit  in  Germany , which  has  the  capacity  to produce  5200  cycles  per   day.   It  is  producing  bicycles  ranging  from  200 to  2500  Euros  that  is  the  price  tag  starts  from  Rs 16,000  to  Rs  4  lacs.
The  company  is  using  high  end  German  technology  with  robotics/ advanced  material  handling , sophisticated  storage systems  &  human  resources.
The  incoming  materials  is  stored  in  multi -level  computerised  storage  system which  delivers  material  on  click  of  button  to  corresponding  lines.
Further,   all the assembled  cycles  are  stored  in  ten story  robotic  storage   facility.  The  capacity   of  storage  is  40,000 cycles. These  cycles  are  dispatched  on a  click  of  button,  as  per  customers  demand.
BUCHEL is also manufacturing high end cycles plastic parts such as reflectors, spokes, nipples, mudguards. In this factory delegates saw painted CR strip to manufacturer the scratch free mudguards. The interaction  at  the  exhibition &  factory   visit  helped  the  Indian industry  to  expand  by  using  high end  German  engineering. India being the second largest manufacturer of world but it is not catering Europe, said the FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular. He added the demand of only Europe is 1.50 crore cycles per year. If India wants to focus on high end cycles then it has to import technology from Europe because still today India is not manufacturing hi-end cycles.
Kular added this type of interactions and international industrial visits definitely prove helpful for industries because in the international world they have to update with latest technology and with the markets.
