DELEGATES OF WORLD PEACE CONFERENCE GET PERMISSION TO VISIT NANKANA SAHIB
DELEGATION TO VISIT NANKANA SAHIB ON FEB 4: PROF GURBHAJAN GILL Ludhiana, February 2, 2019: The delegates of World Peace Conference, that is going on in Pak Heritage Hotel, Lahore (Pakistan), have been given permission to visit Nankana Sahib. Although the delegates were issued visas only for Lahore city, but the Pakistan government has now given permission to all the delegates of World Peace Conference to visit Nankana Sahib. Last evening, Rai Azizullah Khan, former Member National Assembly (MNA) and classmate of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, had hosted a dinner party for Prof Gurbhajan Gill, former president, Punjabi Sahit Akademi, Mr Manjinder Singh Dhanoa, Mr Sehajpreet Singh Mangat and Mrs Jaswinder Kaur Mangat. This party was also attended by Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Punjab (Pakistan) Aijaz Alam Augustine and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mahinderpal Singh. While providing this information, Prof Gurbhajan Gill informed that during the dinner party, they had requested they the delegation members be allowed to visit the entire state of Punjab (Pakistan) and not just Lahore city. He informed that the Pakistan government has today given permission to the delegates for visiting Nankana Sahib. While thanking the Pakistan Government, Prof Gill said that the delegation members would proceed to Nankana Sahib on February 4, 2019. Head of Indian Delegation Dr Deepak Manmohan Singh also thanked the Pakistan government for allowing the delegation members to visit Nankana Sahib. On the second day, various sessions of World Peace Conference were addressed by Aijaz Anwar, Canada based poet Sukhinder, Principal of Nankana Sahib College Dr Nikhat Khurshid, Mirza Ahmad Beg, Dr Ratan Singh Dhillon, Dr Narvinder Singh Kaushal, Dr Nabeela Rehman and Prof Gurbhajan Gill. Professor and Head, Post Graduate Punjabi Department, Punjab University, Lahore, Dr Nabeela Rehman informed that in November 2019, an international seminar on Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Baba Farid would be organised in the university campus. She informed that research on “Wars” of Bhai Gurdas and Guru Nanak Dev Ji are already going on in the university. While addressing the gathering, Fakhar Zaman, organiser of World Peace Conference, informed that dedicated efforts would be made for setting up of Punjabi University in Lahore by next year. Prominent among those who attended the World Peace Conference today included eminent poet Baba Najmi, Sarwat Mohiuddin, Sabar Ali Sabar, Nalima Durrani, Zubaida Haidar Zebi, Bushra Aijaz, Bushra Azin, Khalid Hussain, Prof Kalyan Singh, Sultan Kharvi, Ashik Raheel, Amjad Saleem Minhas, Anees Ahmed, Abbas Mirza, Akram Shaikh, Tarlok Bir, Darshan Buttar, Karamat Mughal, Afzal Sahir, Dr Vaneeta, Dr Gurdeep Kaur, Amarpal Singh Randhawa, Saleem Raza Thakur Gujrat and Sultana Begum, besides several others.
