Jalandhar, November 18, 2014: DEFCOM 2014 has been conducted over a period of two days i.e. on 17 & 18 Nov 2014 at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi.  Eminent speakers from Defence Forces, Industry and Academia as also R & D Organisations participated in the various technical sessions.
The Seminar was inaugurated by the Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Philip Campose. The Seminar is an annual event jointly organised by Corps of Signals (Indian Army) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). It is aimed at fostering synergy between the Armed Forces and the practitioners of  Information Communication Technology Electronics and Cyber (ICTEC) in Industry. The 2014 Edition of DEFCOM was themed on “Adapting Commercial Technologies for Unifying Information, Communication Technologies, Electronic and Cyber (ICTEC) in Battle Space”.
The Indian Army has been in the forefront of adapting commercial technologies for delivering state of the art ICTEC infrastructure to its field formations. Corps of Signals has been stimulating meaningful and focused discussions through the forum of DEFCOM over the years. The Seminar presents an ideal platform for all participants to understand each other’s capabilities and needs in the ICTEC field, synergise their efforts and emerge with a pragmatic way forward. 
The Seminar comprises of four scheduled sessions. The seminar-cum-exhibition also provided a unique opportunity for display of latest State of the Art Communication Systems by the National and International Industry.  In the past, this Seminar has led to absorption of latest technologies by Indian Army in terms of its Communication and IT projects.
