Decorus – 2019, creative art festival
Ludhiana, August 3, 2019: The second edition of DECORUS- An Inter-School Creative Arts Festival was organized at DCM Presidency School wherein students from various schools of Ludhiana participated and together explored the boundless limits of creativity and passion.
This event is a tribute to Late Kanwalpreet Anand an eminent art educator at DCMP who lost her life in a fatal road accident in December 2017.
The ceremony began with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony and was followed by a divine dance performance by the students seeking the blessings of the almighty for the success of the event.
Participants enjoyed competing in various events like flower painting, mug painting, charcoal painting, decoupage painting, mordern art, still life painting etc.
Viashnavi, Jasmine Kaur, Harman Giller, Smyle, and Samayra of from BCM School, Sector 32 , bagged the first prize in flower painting, mug painting, decoupage, modern art and land scape respectively. Rachita Chandok and Shiffa Masood from BCM Arya School, Shastri Nagar was first in collage making.
First prize in charcoal painting was bagged by Tanya Aggarwal from Kundan Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines and Ekamjot S.Chawla of Sacred Heart Convent, BRS Nagar was first in Still Life.
The event was judged by Dr.Vishweshwari Tewari, Associate Professor, Fine Arts Department, LPU, Ruchi Chopra, Assistant Professor, PCTE, Jaspreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, PCTE and Vishal Joshi, Regional Head, Camlin.
School principal Rajni Kalra appreciated the efforts of each young painter and inspired them to use their talent as a medium to bring a change in the world.
