Chandigarh, December 25, 2012: To provide better traveling services to the public, Punjab Government decided to allot more than 100 permits for the operation of motors cabs and maxi cabs on the different routes of the state.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Transport department said that these permits would be provided under the Mata Gujri Seva Punjab Motor and Maxi Cab Scheme-2011 to link the villages with the cities.
The spokesman informed that applications had been already invited for the operations of Motors on the 84 routes in Bathinda and 25 routes in Mansa. The main purpose of the allotment of permits to links the villages with the cities on one hand and to provide the employment to the unemployed youths on other hand. He further said that these permits would not be allotted to the Government or semi-Government employees. The educated unemployed youths would be given priority for the allotment of permits. Those candidates will be given priority whose, villages are on the proposed routes.
