Indian oil and Namdhari XI placed under suspension
Ludhiana, October 27, 2012: Sports Council of Ludhiana, on October 26, 2012, has passed a resolution that reads: “With reference to fight and indiscipline created by Indian oil and Namdhari XI, viewing the views of Umpires and Tournament Director, the Organising Committee, resolved unanimously to suspend both the teams and resolved to bring the matter in the notice of Hockey India, & Indian Oil Corporation Management and Namdhari Management.
Further, it was resolved to allow Punjab National Bank to play final with BPCL.”
The resolution (a copy of which is being published with this news) has been signed among others by the Council’s chairman, president and general secretary.
The resolution was released to the media late last night.
It may be mentioned here that a player had alleged hurled abuses that led to an ugly fight between the two teams during the semifinal of the Perfect Real Estate All-India Sahibzada Ajit Singh Hockey Champion Trophy 2012 here in the late evening on Friday. A player Deepak had suffered injuries during the fight.as per the information, the players of both the teams first exchanged heated argument following which they hit each other with hockey sticks.
