Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar on Saturday organising a Crafts Workshop on Phulkari and Nala Making on Day-II.
Jalandhar, December 20, 2014: The Department of Design of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a Crafts Workshop on Phulkari and Nala Making on Day-II (Saturday) of Design Skills Enhancement Week which is an initiative to promote the traditional craft of Punjab.
The expert Craftswomen from Qadianwal demonstrated the traditional technique of Phulkari embroidery and explained how the designs and method of working has changed over time. Nala making technique and its various innovative styles were also discussed. Students worked along with them to learn the various old and new techniques. The objective of the Workshop is to learn and innovate the traditional craft which in turn shall enable to revive and keep alive our rich craft.
