DAVIET wins championship in IKGPTU Zonal Youth Festival
Jalandhar, October 25, 2019: DAVIET, won the Championship in IKG PTU Zonal Youth Festival which was organized from 23rd October, 2019 to 25th October, 2019. It was a clean sweep for DAVIET which won the coveted Theatre, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Singing and Literary trophies and also the overall trophy to emerge victorious. The win marked the establishment of DAVIET as a techno cultural hub of the Institutions affiliated to IKG PTU Jalandhar. The Zonal Youth Festival was dedicated to 550TH Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. DAVIET overcame strong competition from other teams and came out victorious. Mr. B.S Sekhon, Ex Director Youth Welfare, GNDU Amritsar and Observer of the Zonal Youth Festival congratulated DAVIET for successfully hosting the Zonal Youth Festival. He congratulated all the winners and stated that there is immense talent in the students and they should strive to excel at the international level. He also stated that what makes the Youth Festival special is that it is organized by the students themselves. Every moment and activity of the festival are planned and carried out by the students with the guidance and support of the teachers. The Chief Guests of the Valedictory Function Dr. Lalit Awasthi, Director NIT Jalandhar and Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma ,Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar congratulated all the prize winners and stated that such Youth Festivals are a great platform for the budding technocrats to showcase their talents in a wide variety of events. They highlighted the fact that such cultural extravaganzas help the students imbibe the qualities of tolerance, dedication and devotion. Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma in his address to students said it was only through hard work and effort that one could achieve specific aims in life and hence emerge as winner. Both chief guests also wished all the winners the best of luck for Inter Zonal Youth Festival. Prof.(Dr.) Lalit Awasthi in his address congratulated All for Dhanteras and Diwali. He praised Principal of DAVIET for driving the institution to great heights. According to him, Participation is more important than winning. In the end, he congratulated DAVIET for organizing Youth Festival. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET, in his address thanked all the dignitaries for taking time out of their busy schedules to grace the occasion with their benign presence. He praised Nepali students for their unique and wonderful performance. According to him, India and Nepal have great cultural bond and such cultural performances strengthen countries’ mutual relationships. He also stated that DAVIET is always commitment to shoulder any responsibility given to it by the University. Further He said that Youth Festival offers students to exhibit their skills and talents in the field of culture, literary and other activities on a common platform certainly helps to facilitate their overall development. It opens before students new vistas of competition and at the same time, shows the strength of camaraderie, the pleasure and the satisfaction of being part of one of the largest celebrations of their student life. He congratulated all the prize winners and stated that at DAVIET every student is given a chance to excel in a wide varieties of fields. He appreciated the hard work put in by the Cultural Officer and Co Convener of Zonal Youth Festival Ms. Jasdeep Johal for leaving no stone unturned to make the event a success. DAVIET lifted the IKG PTU Zonal Youth Festival trophy beating Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur which stood Second.
