Jalandhar, November 4, 2016: DAV College Jalandhar bagged first position In the NCC National Games organized at New Delhi. Under this the entire country had been divided into 17 Directorates and DAV College Jalandhar formed an integral part of Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal and Haryana directorate and DAV College Jalandhar made everyone proud by attaining first position in the games. Hockey, football, Basketball, Volleyball, handball, firing and Kho - Kho formed a part of this Inter Directorate competition.
It was a matter of fact that the hockey team had all the members of DAV College Jalandhar and they attained 1st runners up position in Hockey thus uplifting the standard of national Game and their Alma Mater -DAV College Jalandhar. Under this Directorate, under senior division category, Captain Sameer Sharma (NCC Army wing, DAV College Jalandhar) represented the Directorate at mass level.
At this occasion Captain Sameer Sharma said "This is a golden achievement for us and our college and this achievement is incredibly very close to my heart. It is the sheer hard-work and the dedication of our cadets which transformed this challenge into this incredible golden achievement and with this achievement DAC College Jalandhar has been given a credit of 62.77 Credits out of the total credit of 75 for the Republic DAV banner. I heartily congratulate all the winners".
Principal Dr BB Sharma in his message said “In an era where our country is running short of medals in games and sports there DAV College Jalandhar winning at NCC national games is a ray of assurance that the future of our country is in bright hands. The hockey team not only raised the spirits of our National Game in hockey but has strongly made the entire college Proud. I heartily congratulate Captain Sameer Sharma for his worthy stewardship and all the cadets for this great achievement and hope that this legacy continues in the future too.
