Dakha by-election: expenditure observer holds training for election staff
Ludhiana, October 6, 2019: R.Arulanandan, Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), Expenditure Observer for Dakha-68 Assembly By-Election today chaired the special training organised for the election staff at Bachat Bhawan, here today. This training programme was also attended by Returning Officer Amrinder Singh Malhi, Election Tehsildar Anju Bala, besides other senior officials of the District Administration. While chairing the training, R.Arulanandan informed that this training was attended by members of static surveillance teams, flying squads, video surveillance teams, video viewing teams, accounting teams, etc in the presence of senior officials. He urged all the officials to perform their duties with honesty without any bias. Returning Officer Amrinder Singh Malhi informed that if any person has any information related to expenditure of candidates, he/she can contact R.Arulanandan at his phone number 62393-09720 or email id [email protected]. The Expenditure Observer said that the candidates should ensure that the register mentioning expenditure by candidates should be maintained on day to day basis. He said that the checking of election expenditure would be done thrice and if the expenditure exceeds the limit set by Election Commission of India, then strict legal action would be initiated against that particular candidate. The polling of votes would be done on October 21, 2019, while the counting would be on October 24, 2019. There are 220 polling stations in Dakha assembly constituency-68, and there are 1,84,306 general voters along with 780 service voters.
