Cycle Stand Inaugurated At PAU

Ludhiana, December 29, 2015: Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) inaugurated a Cycle Stand on the University campus today. The Cycle Stand has been constructed near Gate No. 2 in collaboration with M/s Hero Cycles, Ludhiana. On the occasion, M/s Hero Cycles donated 20 bicycles to PAU.

Dr Dhillon said, “In view of alarming high pollution level, it is important to motivate the general public to use bicycles as they are eco-friendly and good for healthy lifestyle.” He appreciated and thanked Hero Cycles for donating bicycles.

Mr S.K. Rai, Managing Director, Hero Cycles said their company is committed to help the Ludhiana residents in curbing pollution by using bicycles. Citing successful examples of cycling in different parts of the country, he said this University has always been the first preference for morning walk due to its clean and green environment. “This was the reason our Company thought of promoting cycling at PAU,” he said while assuring full support to PAU in future as well.

Dr R.K. Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, while proposing the vote of thanks, said PAU has been lungs for Ludhiana city and its green environment is well-suited for cycling.

Among others present on the occasion were Deans, Directors and staff of Directorate of Students’ Welfare, PAU.
