New Delhi, August 19, 2014:  The Designated Court at Mumbai has today remanded three days Police Custody to CEO of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in an alleged bribery case.  He was arrested yesterday by CBI.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on the basis of complaint alleging that an Authorised Agent for Censor Certification has demanded bribe of Rs.70,000 on behalf of CEO, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Mumbai for issuing Censor Certificate for Regional Language Film of Chatisgarh “More Dauki Ke Bihav” urgently as the film was scheduled to be released on 15/08/2014.

A trap was laid and the Authorised Agent was caught while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.70,000 on behalf of CEO, CBFC.  Another person, an Advisory Panel Member, CBFC, Mumbai was also caught while accepting the bribe amount on behalf of CEO.  Both these accused were arrested and produced in the Designated Court. They were remanded to Police Custody till 20.08.2014. Searches were conducted at the premises of all the three accused persons.

Further investigation is in progress.
