CT University organizes a CSR activity under ASHA project

· Served a feast to the Children from Slum Areas at McDonald’s.
· The event was aimed to spread cheer among the kids & youth of Slum areas which really left the children with a wide smile on their face.
Ludhiana, May 24, 2017: Enduring its Food for Needy campaign under ASHA project, CT Group of Institutions organised a feast for the children from Slum Areas on Wednesday. The event was organized in collaboration with McDonald’s at the premises of their Ferozepur Road outlet.
The event was aimed to spread cheer among the kids & youth of Slum areas which really left the children with a wide smile on their face. Mrs.Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group) and Baby Aryana Channi served the food to the children.
Mrs.Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group) said, “Most of us usually been to restaurants and food hubs like McDonald’s to celebrate our good times even while just hanging out with friends. But these slum area children never get the opportunity to even taste such food. Under our ongoing campaign, it was intention to offer it to them.” She said, “It’s just the starting, we would definitely continue this campaign and try to feed the deprived one as much as we can. All of us individually can work towards and in the process help those who are not as fortunate as we are”
Joining her words, S.Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group) said, “Several times we have seen that food get thrown in garbage not because it is stale but it is in excess of what has already been consumed and don’t know what to do with that and this regularly happens at the end of marriage or any function.” He said, “Piles of dishes of excess food are thrown into the garbage bin even knowing that many of our citizens are forced to spend sleepless nights due to hunger. We need to put these wrong doings under scanner and should stop them.” He said, “To avoid such wastage of food, the left overs should be given to the needy people or should be sent to the orphanage.”
