CT University organises its first International Conference ICTESM-2019 in Malaysia

50 presenters from various countries presented their research papers

Ludhiana, January 4, 2019: Marking its presence globally, CT University organised its 1st International Conference on Current Trends in Engineering, Sciences and Management named ICTESM-2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference was attended by 50 presenters and delegates from different countries like Australia, Thailand, Canada, Malaysia and India to take stock of current knowledge, share information, and build consensus on the actions needed to move forward in the respective fields.

Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Director, CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan welcomed the keynote speakers, delegates and presenters across the globe and outlined the aim and objectives of the conference. She informed that they have received papers from different universities like Federation University, Melbourne-Australia, University of Ottawa-Canada, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, National Institute of Technology-Jalandhar DAVIET etc.

Prof Dr. David Asirvatham, Executive Dean, Taylor’s University, Malaysia delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the change in the technology in the recent years and discussed its future prospects. He also said that this event will enable different countries to exchange their experience and share best practices for development of advance techniques in the field of technology.

He further elaborated, “There are top 10 strategic technology trends for 2019 and are divided into three major categories like Intelligent, Digital and Mesh, for instance, autonomous things, AI-Driven Development, Blockchain, Smart Spaces, Digital Twin etc. AI is going to replace some of the jobs like Self-driving vehicles, will cause 23,000 truckers to lose their jobs each month. AI technology also has the ability to aid employees, especially those in knowledge work.”

Prof. Dr. Faridah Hj. Hassan, Dean, Faculty of Business Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia illustrated the progress in the industrial revolution as a turning point for industries to change the world. She compared various IR’s and concluded that digital revolution is the best description to define industrial revolution. She also discussed the role of MOOCS for providing online education system in advancing the boundaries and providing the benefits to current education system.

While congratulating the team for organizing this conference, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, CT University said, “It’s a wonderful learning experience for the researchers that participated in this international conference in abroad. The papers presented were full of intense research and innovative ideas related to technology and innovation.”
