CT University marks Int’l Women’s Day by launching Women Empowerment Program
Ludhiana, March 8, 2019: CT University’s School of Law marked International Women’s Day by launching Women Empowerment and Leadership Programme at its campus. For the same, an interactive session was organized in which Gurbir Singh, District & Session Judge, Ludhiana remained the Chief Guest. The programme will have regular conferences, awareness programmes, workshops and guest lectures by various female experts in different fields. The guest for the event, Gurbir Singh, District & Session Judge, Ludhiana said, "Women must not only be worshipped, they must also be safeguarded in the womb. The orthodox of society must be brought to an end that only boys perform the major rituals of the family. If each and every woman has basic knowledge about rights, then she can safeguard herself and fight for her own rights.” He later discussed various laws and rights of Women prevailing in Indian Constitution and gave three important S's for women that are safety, security and stability. Further, elaborating about the programme, Vice Chancellor, Dr Harsh Sadawarti said, “The programme will envisage achieving its mission through specific, measurable and actionable objectives. This will enable women to develop to their full professional potential, further career goals, and contribute to workplace and business success.” Charanjit S Channi, Chancellor, CT University applauded the efforts of the varsity for marking this significant occasion. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Gurpreet Kaur, CJM, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ludhiana; Parupkar Singh Ghuman, President, District Bar Association and President, Punjab Legal Cell; Mandeep Singh Sindhu, Secretary, District Bar Association, Ludhiana; Shamsher Singh Boparai, Superintendent, Central Jail, Ludhiana; Gurbans Singh Bains, DSP, Dakha; Principals from various schools and staff members of the varsity.
