CT University in collaboration with Fortis Hospital conducts Pro-Social Peer Moderator Programme
Ludhiana, September 7, 2018: CT University (CTU) in collaboration with Fortis Hospital conducted Pro-Social Peer Moderator Programme. The program is aimed at delivering life-skills among school children to adopt a healthy and social behaviour in their life cycle. Vivan Singh Gill, Facilitator Director, Fortis Hospital, speaker for the day, enlightened the audience about the programme and hence forth signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the same with Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CTU. School Students from Ludhiana city will be made the part of this programme for leading a better life with groomed skills in them. Vivan Singh Gill, while elaborating about the programme said, “The salient feature of this series is that students become peer moderators and role models empowered with the knowledge on the topic shared by the experts, and continue to train other students of their school, creating a cascade of learning that ensures that the message reaches across to maximum students.” Moreover, considering the trend of Media, The Medial Literacy Module will be made a part to address the burning issue of influence of Media Exposure on impressionable adolescent student minds. So with this programme, they will be made smart users of Media and have media literacy. Fortis’ Pro-Social Peer Moderator program involves students, along with a teacher moderator. In every module, one team of students is trained on one particular topic to equip them with necessary life-skills. The students further use these skills to disseminate their knowledge and coping strategies to their peers, who benefit from their learning. Life-skill programs have been identified as one of the key areas that can bring about a lasting change in the educational system and enhance personality of school-going children. These programs help foster positive growth & development, and prevent the occurrence of mental health-related and social problems. Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, CTU added that such programmes help to target the young minds and make the best out of them. The youth is nation builder and with this particular programme they will become smart and groomed about life skills.
