CT students display culture of ten different countries at United World Fest 2019

CTIHM students perform international dance forms

Jalandhar, March 15, 2019: Propagating international oneness among thousands of students, CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) organized United World Fest on the theme “Vasudhaiva Katumbakam” which means that the world is one family in association with Spice Chef spices.

In this fest, students showcased the culture and food of 10 different countries namely Italy, United Kingdom, China, Egypt, Portugal, Zambia, Indonesia, Dubai, Nepal and Afghanistan. At one venue of the fest, students enjoyed typical dances and songs of different countries; whereas, on other they relished international cuisine. Special exhibitions included monuments, archaeological objects, architectural designs, wildlife, landscapes, geological supremacies, antique acquirements, cultural and allied art and other dominances of different countries were exhibited.

International dance forms were another big attraction. Students from China presented fan, dragon, lantern dances; Egyptian presented pyramids and mummy; Portugal students came out with cruise and waterfall ; Zambian performed Zambian tra ; Afghanistan was with Attan Dance form; Italian students mesmerized with Wine Cellar and Italian Metro station; Dubai students thrilled others with Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab , Dessert Safari and Palm Island; Nepal students were applauded the most for Mount Everest and Pashupatinath Temple; whereas, Indonesian student presented Volcano and student from UK presented Stone Henge, Big Ben, London Eye and London Bus .

Similarly, they relished Chinese Dimsums, Burger, Hakka Noodles, Kothey momos, Yung Chong fried rice; Italian Mozzerella pops, creamy yummy pasta, lusty lime virgin; Grilled cheese bruschetta; and, many more from other countries.

The jury included Sabyasachi Chatterjee, General Manager , Fortune Avenue and Himanshu Wadhwa from Spice Chef spices adjudged the best stalls and performances and gave the cash prizes of Rs. 51,00 to Zambia, Rs. 31,00 to Nepal and Rs. 21,00 to Afghanistan as the first, second and third winners.

Appreciating the efforts of the department, CT Group Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi expressed, “International celebrations teach us emphatically what oneness, friendship, peaceful existence and bonds of togetherness are to exist peacefully in this world. This all can be well understood by working closely and together. I am happy to note that faculty members and students worked together day and night for one-another’s country.”

CT Group Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi, Managing Director Manbir Singh, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Campus Director Dr. GS Kalra and Dr Bharat Kapoor, Director CTIHM were also present at the occasion along with faculty and students of the campus.
