CT Institute lifts IKG PTU Inter-College Volleyball trophy

Jalandhar, February 2, 2016: CT Institute of Engineering, Management and Technology (CTIEMT) lifted the overall trophy in the three-day IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Inter-College Volleyball Tournaments-2016.
CTIEMT, Shahpur won the tournament from boy’s category by beating their opponents CGC Landran in straight sets with the score of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-21. Girls from GNDEC, Ludhiana won the tournament by beating their opponent SBBSPG, Padhiana in straight sets with the score of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-14. As many as 16 teams of men and 4 of women from various institutes affiliated to IKG PTU participated in the tourney.  The winners were given trophies and certificates.
The tournament was started by S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Mr. Harpreet Singh (Vice- Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Dr. P.S. Bedi (Director Campus, CT Group of Institutions).
Mr. Harpreet Singh (Vice- Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “CT Institutions stands tall among competitors with the entire advanced sports infrastructure at campus. For the overall development of students as well as to take care of their physical, mental and social well being sports are must. We believe the true road to permanent success in any sphere is to make yourself a master in that sphere.”
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “Our motive is to maximize access, development and excellence at all levels of participation in sport in order to improve social cohesion, nation building and the quality of life. The aim of the Sports Council is to address and discuss pertinent issues that relate to the growth, promotion, support and sustenance of the sport in the province.”
