Hundreds of students and staff members participated in the celebrations and practiced various yoga postures
Jalandhar, June 21, 2018: The International Yoga Day was observed in the premises of CT Group of Institutions. The CT Public School students, CT College of Education heads, teaching and non-teaching members of various departments participated in the event. Various asanas were performed and the benefits of yoga were also told to the participants. Principal Dr.Namesh Kumar, CT College of Education and Dr.Suresh Sharma, Principal CT Public School exhorted everyone to adopt yoga and music as a way of life.
Dr.Kumar said, “CT Group of Institutions has been organizing Yoga workshops regularly for the students and staff from time to time. We believe in preserving the age-tested ever-useful traditions and cultural heritage of India. Celebrating Yoga is invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition with great enthusiasm and in large numbers. Practicing the yoga postures on the music tunes is so much fun and everybody practiced with full zeal and enthusiasm.”
On the day, hundreds of volunteers practiced various yoga postures- Sadilaya, trunk movements, knee movements, yogasanas like Tadasana, Vkrasana, PadamAasana etc. Kapalbhati and Pranayams like AnulomeVilome Pranayama. It included with a SubhSankalpa and Shanti Patha.
The faculty members expressed that practicing yoga leads to an increased feeling of well-being, which helps explain why so many people find yoga so addictive.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi Chairman, CT Group said that India, through yoga, seek completeness and at the same time oneness with the world. He further said all everyone across the world are ambassadors of Yoga, taking India’s message out to the world. “Yoga is much more than physical exercise, doing it with Music is a great fun that involves a lot of health benefits as well. It enables us to access a new dimension of our self. Even while providing a holistic approach to preventive health care, yoga helps us to restore balance and furnishes us with a much need sense of clarity.” He thanked everyone for their enthusiasm and support to celebrate the ancient Indian discipline, adding that Yoga was so much more than just physical exercise and that it helped in achieving a sense of clarity.
