Jalandhar, November 1, 2014:   CWA, an organisation working for welfare of wards, widows, NOKs (Next of Kin) & personnel with disabilities of Central Reserve Police Force, has signed an MoU with Lovely Professional University.  After mutual discussions with LPU, CRPF-CWA expressed its interest to get some courses designed for CRPF personnel and their family-members. On attaining mutual understanding an MoU was signed between the two which seeks LPU to deliver special courses, and also to provide assistance in skill enhancement of CRPF members. CWA President Suneeta Trivedi, Project Co-ordinator Group Center Jalandhar Sunita Thorpe, and LPU Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal, Director General Er. HR Singla have signed for both the sides. The MoU was signed during celebration of Diamond Jubilee Year of CRPF in New Delhi, which was presided over by Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani.

Talking more about MoU, CWA President Suneeta Trivedi said: “There are a lot of people in CRPF who are not been able to become a part of the society due to disabilities incurred during security actions. With this, their family members also get disturbed. Moreover, CRPF members stay away from their families, so it is always important to provide support to their wives and wards. So, LPU has been approached to help CRPF personnel and their families.”

Assuring CWA for required assistance, LPU Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal thanked CRPF Family Welfare Association for believing in the doings of LPU. Mittal said: “We will be working with Jalandhar CRPF camp to develop such programs which will be delivered at the university campus. A few of these will be delivered at CRPF camps across the country. We hope to make our sincere contribution ensuring enhancement of skills for the benefit of CRPF personnel and their families.”

Illustrative, CRPF is world’s largest armed police force and proud sentinel of India’s internal security.  Its CWA regularly undertakes various welfare initiatives for its members in different fields including education, rehabilitation of widows/disabled, vocational training and more. These activities are not only to supplement the income of CRPF families but also to enhance the standard of living and level of their awareness. These welfare activities are very helpful for CRPF families in making them self reliant as well as enhancing their self-confidence.
