CRIME: Police arrest 2 in theft case

Ludhiana, August 12, 2012: Police have arrested two persons in connection with a case of theft registered at Salem Tabri Police Station here yesterday.

According to an official information, the accused have been identified as Sibu Kumar, a resident of Hari Kartar Colony, Ludhiana and Rajan Kumar, a resident of Meena Bazar, Ludhiana.

Police have recovered a two-wheeler, 3 tolas 30 ml of gold ornaments, 14 tolas silver and cash worth Rs. 40,000.

Preliminary police investigations reveal that Sibu Kumar used to visit the houses where children were lone. Then, he informed the children that their parents had met with road accident and were serious. Children used to accompany the accused on his two-wheeler to meet their parents. But, the accused used to stranded on the way, and he used to commit theft at the house.

Then, Sibu Kumar used to disposed off the stolen goods to Rajan.

Police investigations revealed that both the accused were involved in several cases of thefts.

Further police investigation is in progress.
