Mamta Ashu.

Ludhiana, August 30, 2019: MC Councillor Mamta Ashu has raised some doubts over the auction of the parking sites that took place in the city yesterday. In a strong worded letter to Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, Ashu demanded that a thorough inquiry into the entire process.
In the letter, Mamta Ashu stated, “As you know that the auction of parking sites was carried out by Municipal Corporation Ludhiana through e-tendering process yesterday, i.e. August 29, 2019. Being a Municipal Councillor myself, I have some reservations about this process. Kindly answer some of my questions:
“Why was the auction of some of the parking sites such as Feroze Gandhi Market (which falls in my ward) gone almost 10 times more than the reserve price? If the successful bidder backs out now, it would clearly show that they had done it merely to sabotage the whole auction process. I request you to blacklist the contractor for life if he backs out from accepting the tender,” reads the letter.
She stated that due to several complaints of overcharging by some parking contractors in the city, I had complained to the MC Commissioner several times. Acting on my complaints, those contracts were terminated and the contractors/companies were blacklisted by MC Ludhiana. “Kindly clarify whether any such blacklisted contractor/company managed to get the contract again? If yes, please clarify how did this happen?,” she demanded.
She said that being an elected representative (Municipal Councillor) of MC Ludhiana, I have been raising peoples concerns/complaints from time to time. She has asked the MC Commissioner to get the points raised by her thoroughly investigated and reply as soon as possible.
