New Delhi, January 23, 2019: A wave of jubilation has spread among the Congressmen over the latest political development.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Ashok Gehlot today announced the appointment of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East.
In a press release issued in Delhi today, Gehlot stated that “Hon'ble Congress President has also appointed Smt Priyanka Gandhi as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East. She will be taking charge with effect on first week of February 2019”.
As per the release, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed KC Venugopal as AICC general secretary (organisation) with immediate effect. He will continue in his role as AICC general secretary in-charge for Karnataka.
The Congress president has also appointed Jyotiraditya Scindia as AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh West with immediate effect.
The release further stated that the Party appreciates the contribution of Ghulam Nabi Azad as AICC general secretary for Haryana with immediate effect.
