CONDOLENCE: Punjab & Haryana High Court condoles demise of former Chief Justice S. S. Kang

Chandigarh, November 1, 2012:The Punjab and Haryana High Court today convened a Full Court Reference to condole the sad demise of Sukhdev Singh Kang, Former Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court and former Governor of Kerala.

While sharing the grief with the family of Kang, the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High, A.K. Sikri said that Kang was a symbol of simplicity, dedication and commitment and was also known for his high professional caliber.

He said that the legal fraternity has lost a great human being and legal luminary, who would also be remembered for his legal acumen, sagacity, courtesy and firmness.

The other dignitaries, who paid rich tributes to the departed soul included; Ashok Aggrawal and Hawa Singh Hooda, Advocate Generals of Punjab and Haryana respectively, Lekhraj Sharma, Chairman, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, President, High Court Bar Association.

The family members of Sukhdev Singh Kang, who were present at the condolence meeting included; his wife Ranbir Kaur Kang, son N.S. Kang, Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab and daughter Navdeep Kaur Kang.

The sitting and retired judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court and members of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and Bar Association of High Court were also present in condolence meeting.
