“This step taken by Concorde is mainly in sync with the increasing necessity of green measures all over the world, and especially in Bangalore. The garden city, Bangalore has been undergoing a transformation in terms of a greater level of development in terms of infrastructure. This has been leading to harmful effects on the environment. Being from Bangalore and living in the garden city of India, it is our duty to play our part in maintaining the beauty of our city.” said Mr B S Shivarama, Chairman of Concorde Group at the inauguration of the median garden.
The event was also attended by Mr R. Gopal Reddy, the Managing Director of Concorde Group as well as Mr B. S. Nesar and Mr R.G. Anil, the Executive Directors of Concorde Group.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Mayor of Bangalore, Mr. B.N. Manjunath Reddy said that “There is a dire need for public private partnership to improve the green cover of garden city. These are baby steps towards achieving the same and we are glad that there is greater participation on this front. We are glad that the Concorde Group has taken this initiative.”
Mr. Satish Reddy, MLA of Bommanahalli constituency said “Everyone wants to enjoy the shade of a tree, but we need more people to plant them and improve the green cover. We have taken many small initiatives in this regard in our constituency and we have a long way to go.”
The Concorde Group has taken up this step as a part of their CSR activity ‘Akanksha’. This would also help in taking a step towards the development of the city and taking a move towards adding to the green cover that the city of Bangalore has lost in the process of developing the city.
