Ferozepur, December 15, 2012: Under Jatha March started by Punjab Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), general secretary Comrade Raghunath Singh visited Samadhi of the martyrs – Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Shaheed B. K. Dutt and Punjab Mata, at Hussaniwala, near the Indo-Pak Border, and paid the tributes.

Addressing the labourers, after paying tributes, he said, “The Centre and Punjab governments are snatching the rights of labourers.  The governments are privatising the public sector institutions and handing over to the multi-national companies and favourite Indians.”

He also said, the corrupt rulers of today have no love for the country and their only motive is to mint money.  He put forth before the government the demands to stop the contractual labour contracts, to regularise all the workers engaged on contract basis, equal wages for equal work, minimum wages of Rs.10,000 and Rs.350 as daily wages.

He said to register this protest, the traffic will be jammed for two hours on December 18 and on December 20, about 15,000 labourers would participate in the march to Parliament besides national level strike on February 20 and 21 next.

On this occasion, Punjab convener, Ravinder Luthra, Trasem Jodha, Kuldip Singh Khungar, Dev Raj Verma, Joginder Singh and Hardip Singh Thind also expressed their views.
