Completion of 4-Day Placement Workshop in DAV College

Students learned about Resume Writing , Mock Interview and Group Discussion Tricks

Jalandhar, December 29, 2018: 4-Day Placement Workshop on Resume Writing, Mock Interview and Group Discussion by Training and Placement Cell concluded at DAV College, Jalandhar . The purpose of this placement training workshop was to prepare the students for future placement drives.

This workshop lasted for 4 consecutive days in which students were told about various recruitments and placements which will be held by different companies in the future. In this 4 days workshop , Rahul Sharma , the speaker made the students learn different techniques of resume writing , mock interviews and group discussions. On the fourth day Learning Recap, Interview Skills (which included Interview Questions, Mock Interview and Assessment) and query handling were discussed.

Principal Dr. S. K. Arora appreciated this four-day workshop and said that in these four days students have learned new tricks of successful interview, which will be very beneficial for them in the future. The main motive of this workshop was to make students learn about how to give an interview in their coming lives so that more students could get jobs. This workshop was conducted for better future of the students . It is the responsibility of the college to provide higher education to their students so that they can carry a successful business. But it is also the responsibility of the college to prepare their students for a successful business. Practical knowledge is as important as bookish knowledge.

The speaker of this 4-day workshop was Mr. Rahul Sharma who, with his knowledge, kept students together for four days. In these four days, he gave information about resume writing, mock interview and group discussion to the students . He explained everything practically to the students . On the fourth day learning Recap, Interview Skills (which included Interview Questions, Mock Interview and Assessment) and query handling were discussed by him. He said that some questions are usually asked by every company, as if to tell about yourself, have any experience, why did you leave the previous job, what do you know about our institution, why do you want to join us, Why do you think the institution should chose you, your strong side, salary expectations etc. He also told them about preparing these questions and query handling .

For the practice of Mock Interview and Group Discussion, he said that special attention should be given to General Awareness and group discussion. To perform good at group discussions one should read magazines, newspapers and various websites daily. Talk to friends on different issues. It may happen that sometimes there is a need to write something out of the ordinary. Make a habit of writing in such a way . After giving a mock interview, assess your ability and start working on reactions from people. Keep in mind that doing good in group discussions and interviews is the first and most compulsory condition of admission in prestigious institutes.

Dean Training and Placement Cell Prof . Manav Agrawal expressed his gratitude to Mr. Rahul Sharma for giving his invaluable time to students for 4 days . He said that Mr. Rahul has very well informed the students about resume writing, mock interview and group discussions which will be very useful for them in their future. In this 4 day workshop you have learned a lot many things and i hope that , you will find so much confidence within yourself that you will prove yourself successful in any job interview.
