Ludhiana, August 6, 2019: University Business School, PU Regional Centre, Ludhiana celebrated its Foundation day today. A series of lectures from industry titled “The Inspiring Talks” was organized to mark completion of 12 years of UBS Ludhiana journey.

Amit Jain, Managing Director, Shingora Textiles Ltd. Interacted with the students in the first session. Sarvjit Singh, Punjab State Convenor – FIEO and Director, MAN International was the speaker for second session. Prof.Ravi Inder Singh, Director, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana delivered the welcome address. While addressing the gathering he congratulated Faculty, staff and students of UBS Ludhiana. He said that this journey of 12 years has been full of achievements, learning, opportunities and challenges. He emphasized that every year students of UBS, Ludhiana has been bagging top university position in common merit with UBS, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

During his talk, Amit Jain, MD, Shingora Textiles, Ltd., apprised the students about challenges he faced while creating successful business empire. He advised the students to follow a 10 point programme for a successful professional, personal and social life. He reiterated the importance of reading, travelling and interacting with new people for developing a knowledge base. He said that patience, discipline and hard work are key to success. One must clearly set their goals and work hard to achieve them. He also emphasised the importance of giving back to society. S. Sarvjit Singh also motivated the students by sharing his own experiences in the industry life. He spoke in depth regarding the scenario prevailing in the export business. He talked about the challenges being faced by the export industry now a days and expectation from the government of India to support and boost the export business in country.

In the post lunch session, screening of documentary “Super 30” was arranged. The documentary is about Indian educational program called “Super 30). The program was started by Anand Kumar, a Mathematics teacher and Abhayanand, the former DGP of Bihar under the banner of Ramanujam School of Mathematics in Patna. The program inducts 30 talented candidates each year from economically underprivileged sections of Indian society and trains them for IIT JEE. Almost more than 25 out of 30 students get admission in IITs every year. Dr.Ashish Saihjpal, coordinator, UBS, Ludhiana and Taranjeet Singh, Faculty extended the vote of thanks. The event was concluded with national anthem.
