Complete strike in banks

Ferozepur, August 22, 2012 :  On the call of United Forum of Bank Unions (UBFU), all the nationalised bank in Ferozepur and adjoining areas remained closed to protest against their demands and staged protest.

 

Parveen Talwar, president, State Bank of India Association and Vipan Watts, general secretary said that out-sourcing in the banks will not be tolerated and amendment in Banking Law is condemned by all the nationalized banks.

 

Demanding employment on compassion grounds to the legal heirs of deceased families on the sudden death of bank employee also demanded five days working in a week.

 

The bank officers and officials protesting against the privitisation have been putting their demands before the concerned authorities but the same are being ignored intentionally and they have been compelled to resort to strike. 

 

He further said that all the nationalised banks will also remain closed on August 23.

 

Due to strike of the banks, the common man and business in the city was badly affected.
