Ferozepur, September 20, 2012: On NDA’s call for nation-wide bandh, a complete bandh was observed in Ferozepur City and Cantonment today. to register protest against the UPA government at the Centre for increase in diesel prices and cut on subsidy on cooking gas.
Under the leadership of Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Irrigation Minister and Kamal Sharma, political advisor to chief minister, Sher Singh Ghubaya, MP, and a good number of workers of Akali-BJP alliance parties, today staged strong protest by organising a rally which passed through the bazaars, against the anti-people policies of the centre government.
On this occasion, a memorandum of demands was presented to Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur by a deputation led by Sekhon, Kamal Sharma and Ghubaya.
Talking to the media persons, the leaders said, “The nation is not safe in the hands of centre government led by Congress and each category of the country is sufferer”.
Sekhon, Sharma and Ghubaya said, “The nation is completely weak from economic point of view because of daily new scam by the Congress leaders and the image of the country has been totally tarnished at the global level. SAD- BJP alliance and NDA, will not allow implementing the black laws of FDI and the struggle will continue till the increase in diesel and cooking gas prices are rolled back”.
On this occasion, Joginder Singh Jidhu, MLA, D.P.Chandan, vice chairman, Small Scale Traders Board, Pritam Singh Malsian, Darshan Singh Sherkhan, member SGPC, Natinder Mukhija, district president BJP, Nand Kishore Googan, president beopar mandal, Jaspal Singh, Jaswinder Singh Bootewala, leader of the Federation, Davinder Singh Baboo, vice president Cantonment Board, Sushil Gupta and in good number of Akali-BJP workers were present.
