The Play, "Buddha Dariya" to be staged at Guru Nanak Bhawan on the 24th of January.
Ludhana, January 23, 2019: "For the last several years deliberations were on to save the environment but now the situation demands we avert the polluted environment. It is impossible, however, for the living beings to distance themselves from this situation. We have all been guilty of defiling the nature. Our collective efforts, now, can restore nature to its pristine glory," so opined Jaswant Zafar, the Co-coordinator of the Public Awareness Movement for the revival of the Budha Darya. He lamented that the source of existence of Ludhiana city has been reduced to a poisonous and filthy water body. Improving its state of affairs is not the task of a single government, a single department, a lone municipal corporation or a sole social activist. A concerted effort is the need of the hour. Instead of leveling allegations against each other, everyone must put their heads together for the common cause. Let us be more responsible in the discharge of our respective duties towards the environment. To spread this awareness the first show of the play "Buddha Dariya" shall be staged at the local Guru Nanak Bhawan on the 24th of January at 6pm. Written by Jaswant Zafar, this drama is directed by the Shiromani dramatist and National Sangeet-Naat Academi Awardee Dr. Kewal Dhaliwal. The Convener of the Buddha Dariya Task Force, S. Kahan Singh Pannu shall be the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Chairman of Punjab Art Council, Padma Shree Dr Surjit Patar shall preside over the function.
