Young dancers giving a performance at Dance O Mania, a mega Annual dance show organised by Rockstar Academy in association with JLPL School, Mohali.
Mohali, November 22, 2014: Dance O Mania was held as part of the celebrations at JLPL School. The high decibel show comprised of scintillating dance performances to mark the 32nd Annual Mega Dance Show of Rockstar Academy, in association with JLPL School.
Said Sameer Mahajan, Director, Rockstar Academy, “The programme had all the ingredients of a captivating dance ensemble. Students both juniors and seniors of the academy performed Solo, Group, Bollywood, Bhangra, Hip Hop, Indian, Punjabi Folk, Free Style genres of dances. Then there were unique fusion dances – like Bolly-Hip Hop, Bolly-Indian, Indian-Punjabi, Bolly-Indian-Freestyle that enthralled the audience.” It is noteworthy that Rockstar Academy is a fertile training ground in Dance, Music, Acting, Modeling and Aerobics. The centre has studios in Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Kharar and Ambala.
A new offering at Dance O Mania was Hip Hop –Robotics style of dancing. What’s more, a group dance by seniors which was a mix of Hip-Hop-Belly-Bollywood also mesmerised the audience. Contemporary dance performances too formed part of event.
Dance O Mania was preceded by JLPL School’s inter-school cultural fest – ‘Hungama 2014’ -- a fun-filled, multi-faceted festival. Unique competitions such as Feeding the Lion, Ringing the Bottle, Painting & Poster making Competition, Magic show, Face tattoo and much more formed part of the event. The school Principal, Poonamjit Kaur said that, “We are pleased with the exceptional response to Hungama. This is an opportunity for us to help students excel and have a terrific time while doing so. We firmly believe that activities such as these helps reiterate our philosophy of unearthing talent in children that would otherwise go unnoticed, in the rush of academics and book study. Even in Dance O Mania JLPL School students performed on a patriotic number, showed their talent in a Hip Hop performance & a Bollywood Number.”
All in all it was a day filled with fun, frolic and enjoyment at JLPL School campus. The show Dance O Mania was certainly an icing on the cake and a fitting culmination of festivities.
