COLORS’19, a two day cultural fiesta kicks off at CT Group of Institutions
Jalandhar, February 1, 2019: More than 1800 students from 50 colleges across Punjab participated on the first day of cultural festival COLORS 2019 at CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan. The first day of the event was inter-college competition in which students took part in 30 competitive activities like Group Dance, Fashion show, Business Plan, Quiz, Solo Singing, Debate, Bhangra and many more. APJ College of Fine Arts managed to lift the overall trophy of COLORS 2019, in an inter-college competition whereas Mehar Chand Polytechnic College bagged runners up trophy. Besides, Mehar Chand Polytechnic College bagged first and second prizes in Debate. The first prize for Advertisement Film goes to APJ College of Fine Arts. HMV College bagged first prize in Group Dance and first prize in Fashion show as well. APJ College bagged first prize in Business Plan and second prize was bagged by HMV College. APJ College bagged first position in AD Mad show whereas HMV College bagged second position. In the turban tying event, CT Group of Institutions bagged the first prize. APJ bagged first prize in Salad making. Pyramid College bagged first prize in clay modelling whereas ACET Amritsar bagged second prize. Apart from its own students, the college was home to more than 1800 students from various colleges namely HMV College, Chandigarh Polytechnic College, Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering, Trinity College, DAV College Amritsar, KCL-IMT, CT Group Shahpur, SCD Government College Ludhiana, DAV College, Jalandhar, Mehar Chand Polytechnic, APJ College of Fine Arts and Pyramid College Jalandhar etc. To entertain the participants, budding singer from the city, Garry Chaudhary enthralled the audience with his mesmerizing live band performance along with Akash and Shekhar. Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Campus Director said, “Like every year, we have received a wonderful response from various colleges on the first day of the event. Students participated with full competitive spirit in various activities and have won the honors. COLORS aim at inspiring the youth to elevate aspirations, stay focused and achieve greater heights. The objective is to bring out the dynamism of the youth of today by providing them platform to perform.” Managing Director Manbir Singh said that this is a wonderful platform given to the young students to showcase their talent and this way they can also test their hidden abilities. Parminder Kaur Channi, Co-Chairperson, Deputy Director Trainings Amrit Kalsi, Dean Academics Anurag Sharma and Principal CTITR Dr. Yogesh Chhabra were also present during the event.
