COAET Holds Its Golden Jubilee Alumni Meetc

Ludhiana, December 31, 2015: The Alumni Association of College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized its Golden Jubilee Alumni Meet recently. About 250 alumni of the college, settled in India, USA, Australia, Canada, Nepal and China attended this event along with their families.
 
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU was the chief guest. Dr B.S. Pathak, Senior Most Dean of COAET; Dr P.K. Gupta and Dr PPS Lubana, former Deans of COAET; Dr B.S. Sidhu, Agriculture Commissioner, Punjab; and Dr Manjit Singh Chinnan, Professor of Food Engineering, University of Georgia, USA were among the distinguished alumni present on the occasion.
 
The Chief Patron of the Alumni Association and Dean of COAET, Dr. Jaskarn Singh Mahal congratulated the alumni of this institution for immense contribution and professional excellence in the field of agricultural engineering around the world. The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1964 and has produced approx. 2000 engineers who have excelled as academicians, researchers, administrators, entrepreneurs in varied fields, he added.
 
During the General Body Meeting of the Alumni Association, new Executive was elected with Dr Gursahib Singh, President; Er. Sandeep Khullar, Senior Vice-President; Dr Satish Gupta, Vice-President; Dr Samanpreet Kaur, Secretary and Sunil Garg, Treasurer. An exclusive one to one student-alumni interaction provided a golden opportunity to the new students to interact with the old students and learn something fruitful from their experiences to carve a successful future. On the occasion, 1986 batch donated Rs 1 lakh in the memory of Dr K.J. Singh and Rs 40,000 for hostel. In addition, Chandigarh Chapter Alumni Association donated Rs 50,000 to COAE&T. Splendid performances by the students of COAE&T during the cultural evening left the audience spellbound.
