Ludhiana, August 9, 2014: M.Sc.Nursing Final Year Medical Surgical Nursing specialty students under the guidance of H.O.D.and faculty conducted a CNE on “Standard Protocols for Management of Common Emergencies” in College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana.
Dr.Jeyaraj D.Pandian, H.O.D., Department of Neurosciences was one of the Guest Speakers who enlightened the participants on management of stroke.
Dr.Ashu Thomas Mathai Professor, Department of Anesthesia and Dr.Aprajitha Sophia D’Sousa, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetric & Gynaecology and Dr. Triza Jiwan, Professor, Psychiatric Nursing presented paper on the Common Emergencies related to their specialties. Senior Nursing faculty and M.Sc. Nursing Final Year Medical Surgical Nursing specialty also highlighted the management of Common Emergencies such as Poisoning, GI bleed, Cardiac Emergencies etc.
The participants i.e. Nursing In-charges of Critical Care units & M.Sc. Nursing 1st Year learnt a lot during the CNE. The outcome of CNE was compilation of selected protocols.  Prof. Ponnamma R. Singh, Principal, College of Nursing and Dr. Reena Jairus, Nursing Superintendent emphasised on importance of protocols specially the role of nurses in development and utilisation of protocols.
