CM directs Raji Srivastva to visit gastro affected areas of Batala

Chandigarh, October 11, 2012:  Taking cognizance of news reports regarding sudden outbreak of Gastroenteritis in Batala area which claimed 15 lives, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today directed the Managing Director Punjab Health System Corporation (PHSC). Raji P Srivastva to visit the affected areas to ascertain the possible causes and suggest corrective measures to tackle the disease effectively.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Srivastva has been asked to visit Batala tomorrow to take stock of the situation and update the Chief Minister accordingly. She has also been asked to submit the report to the Chief Minister at the earliest. The spokesperson further said that Srivastva would hold meeting with the district administration Gurdaspur and Civil Surgeon to assess the entire situation to provide the best Health care and treatment facilities to the patients.
