Dharamshala, July 29, 2017: Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh who was supposed to visit Fatehpur, Nurpur and Indora constituency of district Kangra today had to cancel his visit due to bad weather as his chopper after taking off from Shimla took back to Annandale from mid air somewhere halfway from above Hamirpur.

Thereafter, the Chief Minister dedicated several projects worth around Rs. 70 crore from state secretariat through tele-conferencing which included inauguration of 133 KV electric substation and foundation stone of Polytechnic College for women at Kadana (Rehan).

Transport Minister, G.S.Bali, MPP and Power Minister, Sujan Singh Pathania were also present on the spots in Kangra district , where the functions took place and unveiled the plaques on behalf of Chief Minister. The Polytechnic college exclusively for women is to cost Rs 42.61 crore and this would be the second Polytechnic for women in the State. Transport Minister said ,” the Polytechnic is to be funded by Asian Development Bank under the Skill Development Scheme. The classes of the said Polytechnic are proposed to be started in the mentor institution at B.R. Ambedkar Government Polytechnic college at Ambota for academic session 2017-18.”

Meanwhile, Sujan Singh Pathania who unveiled the plaque, the moment Chief Minister announced, said that Rs 14 crore, 133 KV electric substation would benefit 110 villages of Indora, Fatehpur and Jawali with a population of 1.25 lakh, besides minimising transmission and distribution losses.

Chief Minister also announced laying foundation stone of Kudal-Jagnoli-Ghaith-Challa-Nagal-Jakhbad road to cost Rs 11.50 crore. The 10 kilometres stretch would benefit population of 5 panchayats of Fatehpur constituency. He also announced inauguration of Police Post at Dhangupeer completed with an outlay of Rs 90 lakh and announced opening of Sub-Divisional Officers(SDM) Office at Indora. The Chief Minister also announced inauguration of Ayurveda Hospital at Suliali in Nurpur Constituency, where MLA Nurpur, Ajay Mahajan, performed the unveiling of inauguration plaques on behalf of Chief Minister. He also announced inauguration of Water Supply Scheme which would cater irrigation facilities to around 60 hectares of land and benefit the population of Dev-Bharari and Loharpura Panchayats. Ajay Mahajan also addressed public meeting later and performed all the functional ceremonies on behalf of Chief Minister.

Chairman, APMC, Rajinder Pathania, Chairman, Kangra Central Co-operative Bank, Jagdish Sapheiya, Chairman, State Education Board, Balbir Tegta, BCC President, Ramesh Rana, Secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee, Chetan Chambiyal, Chairman, Panchayat Samiti, Surinder Sharma, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
